Custom Woodworks of Nashville

Early on in Len Chappell's youth he had this enormous desire and interest in high-quality woodwork. Len's grandfather noticed Len's interest and began teaching him everything he could about the quality of wood, how it should be handled and preserved, how much time it takes to make high-quality woodwork and emphasized not cutting corners. Len was so fascinated by this desire and interest that he knew this is what he wanted to do with his career.

In 1976, in the foothills of South Carolina Len opened his own woodworking business (top-left photo), and named it "Custom Woodworks". His young business thrived as he learned more and more about high-quality woodwork and how to produce it.

In 1984 Len moved his business to Nashville, Tennessee, renamed it to "Custom Woodworks of Nashville" and began producing high-quality woodwork for local residence and businesses. Len hand selected and hand trained his staff, developing them into High Quality Craftsmen, and teaching and instilling in them the importance of "QUALITY first". Len has always said that he and his staff are in this for the artistry and value of woodworking.

Today "Custom Woodworks of Nashville" is thriving. There is no particle board anywhere in the shop. The company is one of the most powerful players in Nashville in Architectural Millwork. They are considered one of the premiere woodshops by most architects, dealing with exotic wood, metals, glass and special finishes. They have produced high quality woodwork for many in the entertainment industry in Nashville.
